Over at Cafe Hayek, Don Boudreaux notes this snippet from our President:
Some of you may be cynical and fed up with politics. A lot of you may be disappointed and even angry with your leaders. You have every right to be. But despite all of this, I ask of you what has been asked of Americans throughout our history. I ask you to believe. That one could say this good faith assertion reflects a profound mysticism sharply at odds with the otherwise anti-religious nature of the left.

Obamessiah is your own personal Jesus.
Pick up the receiver, he'll make you a believer.
The religious instinct comes with the hardware. Remove God from the software, and the machine will reallocate accordingly. Modern man will channel that belief capital into politics, environmentalism, etc. This is precisely why the 20th century was so bloody.
Your insight would be more compelling if you could pair it with some kind of anti-religious quote from Obama. In reality, Obama, like virtually every other prominent politician in America in the past 20 decades, is very reverent of religion when he speaks about it.
