Both Ford and GM haven't made an operating profit for the past 3 years. Now word that auto sales are plummeting, as financing for such loans is way down, especially for the US auto-makers.

they're doing fine outside us. factories in turkey, all over east europe, joint ventures in china etc. all the right moves. need to leave a symbolic presence in us to benefit from taxes etc. and they'll be ok.
